"Isaias" is a Tz'utuhil Maya artist from San Juan La Laguna in the "Lake Atitlan" region of Guatemala who has won national acclaim in his own country for his painting titled Hurricane "Mitch". Isaias will be in Eugene in February for an exhibition at OPUS6IX and to hold oil painting workshops and discussion groups for local artist and patrons.


The exhibition will feature works by Isaias and other fine artists depicting the beauty of their indigenous culture and traditions and the struggles of their daily lives to overcome abject poverty.
